We invite you to join us for the Syracuse Ukrainian Festival on July 26 - 27, 2024! The festival is an excellent opportunity to learn about Ukrainian culture and enjoy a fun-filled weekend with friends and family.

70th Holy Dormition Pilgrimage in Sloatsburg, NY

will be held August 9 - 11. This year's presentation is a Lourdes Virtual Pilgrimage Experience. 

St. John's has a bus to go to the event for one day. If interested in attending and would like to go on the bus, please contact Father Mihai as soon as possible. 


Calling all bakers!

If you have a faborite traditional Ukrainian baked recipe, please consider donating some baked goods to the festival bake booth. Drop off your baked goods to the undercroft of the church on Thursday, July 25, starting at 5:00 pm.

Please include a card with the name of the item, a general ingredient list, and indicate if it needs refrigeration.


 New boiler needed!

We are in need of your help. The boiler/heating system for the church needs to be replaced. We are asking parishioner for donations to help offset the cost of the purchase and installation of this vital system.

Please put your donation in an envelope marked "Boiler Project" and drop it in the collection basekt. You may also stop by the rectory on Tuesday during office hours to make a donation. You may also donated online through the WeShare Giving page on the website.


Apostleship of Prayer celebrated 100 years of service to the parish on June 1!

Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate with us on June 1. The Divine Liturgy was inspirational, and the dinner that followed included a delicious buffet, good fellowship, and a lot of fun.

Thank you to the Holy Name members who led us in the procession into the church and to all the friends and family who came.

PROVIDING SUPPORT TO UKRAINE

St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church has established an Humanitarian Aid fund to accept monetary donations for Ukraine.
 
We accept cash and checks made payable to “St. John the Baptist UCC.”  Please place your donation in an envelope and mark Ukraine on the envelope.
 
Credit Card donations can be made right here on the church’s website on our WeShare page. Once there, you can click on the Help Ukraine tab and follow the prompts.
 
NO amount is too small!

June: Moleben to Christ the Lover of Mankind, 6 p.m. every Wednesday

INFORMATION
Confessions: Confessions before and after Liturgies or by request.
Baptisms: Please contact the parish office before arranging the date.
Marriage: Call the parish at least 6 months in advance. Pre-marital counseling is mandatory.
Religious Education: Religious Education every Sunday at 10 am in the parish school. If you would like to register your children please contact Raymond Wihak.
Sacrament of the Sick: In case of emergency, call parish anytime.
Bulletin Deadline: Monday of every week.
Church Facilities: Any use of church facilities must be cleared in advance at the rectory.
Cemetery: The purchase of cemetery plots is a privilege reserved for parishioners. Please contact the rectory before any major improvements are undertaken.
Bequests: In making out your will, kindly remember your church. St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Syracuse NY is our legal title.
